I do not care what your opinion is of the military or the war. I do not care what your opinion is about the way things have been handled. I'm putting this out here, clearly and firmly: I am proud of my son. I am honored that he fought for his country. He almost died doing it. You may not appreciate what his job was, but have the respect for your own family to shut your mouth about it and endure it. The attitudes I've seen thrown at your brother who almost died are unfair and unneeded.
I love you all, with my entire heart and soul, but at this time, Hobie is my priority. He will be protected to the darkest of days and back into the light again. If you don't like it, by all means, don't come around for a while. Right now, he needs every bit of support this family can give him.
I'm disappointed in the things I've heard and seen, and I expect it to end immediately.
